Bird Garden - Yuen Po Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon 7am - 8pm

The Bird Garden is set in an attractive Chinese courtyard where the locals sell their songbirds. Bird Garden is home to hundreds of sparrows, mynahs, cockatoos, parrots, and Chinese songbirds in exquisitely crafted wood, bamboo cages (which are also for sale and make great souvenirs).

The birds are valued not so much for their appearance but for their singing abilities. Packed with booths selling crickets and grasshoppers to feed the birds and all the bird-related paraphernalia and accessories. The garden is close to Mong Kok KCR station and Mong Kok stadium. Hong Lok Street was closed as part of an urban renewal project in June 1998. The Garden was constructed by the government to accommodate some of the booths.

Many elderly locals comes here merely to spend a relaxing day of bird watching, pet bird owners walking their birds in cages around the area and others flock here to chat with their friends while they hang up their songbirds to do their bit.
