Hong Kong is popularly known not only as the shopping paradise in Asia, but also a great place for sightseeing! There's a place where you can find serenity and peace walking along leisure parks and gardens. You will be surprised to discover that there are many "secret gardens" a paradise of greenery, birds, water fountains and colorful flower paths hidden along the bustling city of Hong Kong. a relaxing place to go to after the whole day of shopping.

Before you plan your sightseeing trip, remember to check the weather (dial 18501-press 3 for seven days local weather forecast). Ready your digital camera and charge your battery overnight or bring sufficient negative rolls if you're using an old camera. Wear comfortable shoes and clothings (a jacket or pullover will be required for the sometimes fierce air-conditioning indoors). it is also helpful to bring a map for location reference and plenty of bottled water, a pack of tissue paper or handkerchief and of course, a handful of pocket money. you may see some beautiful souvenirs to bring home along the way.

Unless you want to go to a particular remote places (eg: island hopping, boat ridings) that you cannot find out how to get to, it is best that you join a tour group.

  Sightseeing Must See:

Some say that you will not feel the real essense of Hong Kong unless you visit Ocean Park, The Peak and Hong Kong Disneyland.

Ocean Park is the largest Oceanarium and longest escalator in Asia. there are thrill rides, aviary, garden, exciting cable car rides connecting lowland to highland. Ocean Park is so big that one day is not enough to see everything. It is best to go there in autumn or spring but dont go there during summer as it is very hot and very cold during winter. Be sure that you are well rested the night before your Ocean Park trip because the Park is so big, so much to do and so many things to see, you will need all the energy that you can have to enjoy the whole day of fun and excitement.

The Peak is another most visited place in Hong Kong for sightseeing. a steep tram trip on the way up at about a 50 degree angle going up to the peak where you can enjoy an awesome panoramic view of Hong Kong.

Disneyland is the latest addition to HK's sightseeing adventures. A magical place with lots of fun-filled attractions for young and young at heart.

For nature lovers, there are numerous beaches, camping sites, hiking, as well as Hong Kong famous landmarks and Museums/Temples.
